Year 11 exams and end of year arrangments

Dear Parents and Students 

Please find detailed some important information in relation to our end of year arrangements for Year 11 students. 

Exam Timetable 

As part of the Centre Assessment Grade we will be testing students on a reduced content GCSE paper. The result of this examination will make a significant contribution to the overall grade submitted, approximately 50% weighting (if no other data is available) 

All of the content in the exams have been covered by the students in their classes. 

From 17th – 27th May  2021 students will be on study leave and need only come into school for their exams. See timetable for details. 

After the exam has been completed students should return home. 

Transport arrangements 

If your child is transported to school they will still be collected in the morning by their taxi, however if the taxi is shared with other students not in Year 11 they will either have to make their own way home or wait until the end of the school day.  The school will provide free bus passes for any student affected. 

Access Arrangements 

“Exam Windows” are long enough to allow for any access arrangements to be applied. 

Exams are carried out under full exam protocols and any student who does not follow the rules will have their exam paper destroyed.  This could have a major impact on any grade awarded. 

Year 11 Leaving Date 

Friday 28th May is the last day for Year 11 students, I am hoping that everyone will attend school to allow us to say goodbye and to ensure that every student knows that we are still here to support with college applications etc. 

Exam Results 

These will be available on the 12th August 2021.  The school office will be open from 9:30 am till 12pm for students to collect their results. 

This has been a challenging year for our students but I am confident that the arrangements we have put in place throughout the year and the way in which we are compiling our Centre Assessment Grades will reward students with the grades they have earned.
