Statement on the promotion of British Values
What is meant by “British Values”?
At McKee College we believe that the following list exemplifies British Values:
Although this list is not exhaustive, we believe it demonstrates the values we seek to instil and promote in our young people here at the McKee College
McKee College is open and welcoming to all, it has a unique atmosphere which allows young people to express themselves without fear or prejudice. We embrace difference and celebrate it, helping to build tolerance and understanding within our students towards others.
Through our curriculum and our key-working with students we will promote the British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs. We will teach and encourage students to respect one another and to respect and tolerate difference, especially those of a different faith or no faith.
We have a duty to keep our students safe and prepare them for life in modern multicultural Britain and globally.
