During our PSHE lessons, the students have been tasting different types of food; meats, fruit, fish, cakes and cheese. Giving them the opportunity to try new food from a variety of food groups in order to expand their experiences.
Linked with these sessions was a trip to Dewlay Cheese Factory at Garstang. On Thursday 3rd October we watched and learnt how cheese is made, what ingredients are used and how they are sourced (all from local farms). The trip was extremely interesting and the students were fully engaged, asking questions that promoted discussions about future careers, Economics, Brexit, Science, food Technology and eating!
